When we first starting working with them it seems a bit scary but as our relationship grew and we saw the impact Zaffore had on saving us money we were delighted. In fact they are so well trained in training us we paid them less this past year. Without them our business would be running less efficiently. We love that Kathy, Julie and Vicki are completely honest with us, they say it like it is good or bad, but it only helps us grow more financially in the long run. They are Rockstars in our books!

Our engineering firm has been a client for nearly 25 years, and rarely does one encounter a professional services firm that builds such deeply personal relationships as we have enjoyed with the Zaffore team. I first came to Zaffore CPA for both my personal and business returns about 7 or 8 years ago after feeling I was not getting the attention I needed with my prior CPA firm. I have been nothing but pleased with the level of service and the past few years have started 3 more companies (in addition to the one I already had). Needless to say, this past year with 4 companies plus my personal returns, I require a lot of personalized attention and feel like I can count on Kathy to answer the many questions I usually have each year. If she does not know the answer she always finds out and gets back to me.

I chose Zaffore CPA firm because it was close and convenient for my business. As I painfully learned, that is a very bad way to select your accountant. I'd also like to state, I am not bitter. These are just facts and I hope to help other people make the best decision for their business by understanding better who they are trusting with their hard earned money.

There are so many things I could share that were red flags but I'll try to keep it somewhat succinct. As a small business owner, I was looking for a CPA firm that felt more like a partnership - a place that would help guide me through the murky waters of being a new business owner from a taxation perspective. I never felt like this firm really valued my business nor felt like a partner in my endeavors. Further, they were not transparent on how much my returns would cost. I was quoted a number and then when it came time to file my return, it $550 more than I was quoted b/c of "bookkeeping" services at $95/hr as well as "CPA oversight" at $150/hr. I have a one person consulting business and I track my expenses all year long and categorize them into expense types in a very user friendly format. My returns are about as simple as it gets. This was nothing more than fluff to make money. Period. Any firm worth its weight in gold would've mentioned that this additional cost was needed in order to complete my returns. Nope, not at Zaffore. The way they decided to handle it was to hold my return as ransom until I paid the additional monies since they wouldn't file my return until all fees were paid. My hands were tied and they knew it.

I would never recommend anyone work with this company. There are just too many really quality CPA firms out there to waste your time and money here.

I was pleased with their services but for someone opening up their business this may not be the CPA for them. Although the cost was disclosed in the contract they set up, they were not up front with the amount of hours that would be spent on the bookkeeping. Then when asked for a breakdown of hours spent they were unable to give them, racking up a bill of nearly $2000 in initial startup fees outside of the thousands for taxes. I would give 5 stars for professionalism but 1 star is given because I felt I was taken advantage of and they were not upfront with me
