I worked with VLAA to get help with contacting a lawyer and had a great experience. I am the Co-Founder of a public art initiative, and have been considering the path of LLC versus nonprofit as I expand my practice. After initial consultation, VLAA, connected me with a lawyer in about a week or two. The lawyer was well-versed in this topic and answered all of my questions. I have much more confidence now in my options and how I am going to move forward. Thank you VLAA!

Helped get me in touch with a knowledgeable, competent attorney when I had an issue with a community mural. Ended up needing more advising 3 years down the road, and the attorney was just as helpful then. The whole process was pretty organized and painless, too-- and communicating with KCVLAA was prompt and courteous. I'm grateful there is an organization to help artists navigate copyright, ownership, contracts, etc. because it was difficult to know what my rights were or how to interpret the law without speaking to an attorney about it.

What an amazing organization! I have had nothing but positive interactions with my volunteer lawyer and firm. They helped me get registered as a LLC, get my EIN and DBA forms submitted and understand my sales tax obligations. Any question I had was answered completely and promptly, even allowing me to get registered and properly collect sales tax for a pop up.

I wanted to give this place a better rating but I got matched with someone that didnโ€™t specialize in the area I was needing help in. So I really didnโ€™t get concrete answers or the help I needed. A bit disappointed. The guy that helped me was nice and tried to help as much as he could. I appreciated that.
