John Butler held an excellence standard for compassion with equanimity for both my ex-husband and I during our mediation. He and his team went above and beyond to customize solutions for our unique situation. I believe Mr. Butler is a gifted mediator. He helped us end our marriage on an even keel. He worked with us at our pace, offered suggestions when we needed guidance but also allowed us to navigate our issues in a way that worked for us. I was unsure of what to expect from divorce mediation. I was worried and anxious. During the first call, John's calm approach was evident and I quickly became comfortable and trusting of his process. He created a structure on our phone calls that allowed both me and my ex-wife to express ourselves. The structure also ensured that we were listening to the other person's comments and concerns. John was very patient, and allowed us to progress on our schedule. He was very responsive to our inquiries, scheduled meetings in a timely fashion, and was always on-time. He provided us good guidance and he helped us through two or three very thorny issues. I believe the use of John helped ensure that my ex-wife and I remained on good terms (versus using lawyers).

He brings his background as an attorney, his experience as a minister and counselor and his personal traits of honesty, compassion and a real desire to mediate to the table. He has the patience of a saint, yet he is persistent when the need arises. He is always fair and able to make things happen; even when things started to go south it was John who kept it together and moving forward.
