My experience with this hospital was about 4yrs ago. My son came in to the ER at about 3am in the morning for a croup flare-up. He’s dealt with croup almost his whole life and he is terrified every time. This time we tried a few different things first and when that didn’t work, my husband brought him to this ER while I stayed with my other son who was fast asleep.
They came back after about 2hrs or so and my husband said it was the best experience! The whole staff was so friendly and helpful and made them feel so safe and comfortable. They even gave him a small, stuffed dog that turned out to be his favorite lovie. He named him “Dr Puppy” and he’s slept with it every night since.
I just wanted to write a review to say “thank you” to all who helped my son that night. It helped us all breathe a bit better knowing there are some amazing people out there who care.

their billing department is completely unresponsive. I called about a dozen times during business hours over the course of several months and was only able to speak to a human once. They sent my bill to a collections agency despite the fact that they failed to send my claim to the correct insurance. Exorbitant price gouging - they tried to charge me almost $3k for an x-ray and a sling. Stay away from this hospital if you can.

If you can stay alive long enough to get to St.Marys/Intermountain Healthcare in Grand Junction- do that. The care offered here is sub par, at best. The practitioners are unprofessional, the facility doesn't practice basic cleanliness standards. To top off our awful experience, they assured us that our insurance would cover the visit. It didn't. We're now stuck with a $30,000 bill. 10/10 recommend going anywhere but here.

I have lived in the Vail Valley for over 20 years, and in that time I have had two knee replacements (thank you Dr. Nathan Cafferkey!) and rotator cuff surgery (thank you Dr. Richard Cunningham!) all performed at Vail Hospital. As of today I need to add to that list, a hernia surgery performed by Dr. Turner Lisle. Another stellar performance by the excellent surgeons and staff at the excellent Vail Health hospital in Vail, CO. From the moment I checked in at admissions right through to the moment I checked out I was expertly cared for by the entire staff including Cary, Lily, and Grant who were cheerful, charming, and caring at all times making the whole surgery process as smooth and comfortable as any surgery could possibly be. Vail Health's use of the excellent Da Vinci surgical robot (used in both of my knee replacements and the hernia repair) has resulted in minimally invasive and excellent results in all three cases for me, and I highly recommend it. A normal hernia procedure without Da Vinci requires a far larger incision with 6-8 week recovery time, whereas Dr. Lyle has cleared me for near full recovery in 7-10 days. Amazing! I play pickleball 3 hours a day, ride my mountain bike 4-5 days per week, and ski 30-50 days a year, so sports are the focus of my life. I am 68 years old, going on 48 thanks to everyone at Vail Health! Cheers!

While facing a life altering situation, everyone from the person that reassembled my hands to the person that cleaned my broken body, they all showed me compassion and empathy. You could not ask for a more dedicated group of people whose sole focus is seeing you through your recovery.

They are hard to get ahold of to schedule appointments, don't call back when numerous voicemails have been left, their billing dept. is a joke. they don't submit items correctly to insurance then blame the patient for it. Once you do get ahold of them, they don't keep notes on anything, so you can speak to them monthly about a bill and they will still say that its been to long and out of their hands, that there was no notes on it. The patients have to manually submit their own insurance claims and if you don't they will send you to collections. The worst scheduling and billing experience. Don't go there unless you are dying. You might loose and leg and pay for it with the other.

I am a retired physician who was admitted to this hospital through the ER last week for evaluation of chest pain. I have had an extensive history of experience in hospitals, and I want to say that my experience in this hospital was excellent! The nurses on the floor and in the cardiac cath lab were compassionate, competent, and very professional. The doctors who took care of me (Dr. Brownson was the ER doctor, Dr. Santibanez was the Hospitalist, and Dr. Greenberg was the Cardiologist) were very competent and professional as well. And everyone was so courteous and helpful! And consequently, I had a very positive outcome. I would recommend this hospital facility to anyone! Dr. W. Warkentin

Unfortunately, I have been a frequent user of Vail Health. They are thoughtful and caring and their level of expertise is very high. I cannot say enough good things about them.

They saved my life in the ER twice. I have had several surgeries and more than 70 cancer treatments here. And I have never been left in pain as I have been at other hospitals. If you need them, they are always there for you.
