Absolutely Horrible Experience – Avoid at All Costs

Richard Dowse provided my husband with terrible legal advice from beginning to end. We ended up paying over $30,000 in lawyer fees only to lose on nearly every issue in court. Despite having only a year of experience in family law, I felt like I had more knowledge than Richard.

He was consistently unprepared for court, a terrible communicator, and didn’t seem to grasp even the basic foundations of family law. He also charged far more than the time he actually spent on the case. It honestly felt like we were paying for his legal education, as he was clueless about proper procedure.

We’ve since hired a new attorney who has shown us just how lacking Richard’s representation was. If you want to lose money and lose in court, go ahead and hire him. Otherwise, stay far away from this place.

Doug is thorough and efficient. He is also a great listener and able to come up with solutions that are in line with your goals. His paralegal Marisa is on top of everything and a great communicator. I 100% recommend their services.

Doug Anderson appeared to lack attention to detail throughout the case, often forgetting important tasks such as sending subpoenaed documents.

A prime example of this was when I requested to withdraw representation, the firm submitted the withdrawal to the court with an outdated and non-existent address due to a typo.

Doug's disorganized manner is evident if you go to trial. During the course of our divorce he mentioned three different times that evidence gathered would be critical to use at trial due to my spouse breaking the law and refusing to follow court orders. Despite discussing these items just weeks before trial, Doug forgot to bring any of them up. The judges finding if facts even called out the fact that Doug failed to provide evidence.

If you seek a detail-oriented firm, I suggest looking elsewhere based on my experience with them.
