I called code enforcement to inspect my apartment unit. The agent deemed the unit unrentable due to multiple code violations. They scheduled a follow up investigation to see if any of the code violations have been fixed. The follow up investigation has never taken place. The property management group continues to rent the unit and code enforcement seems to care less. Supervisor even hung up on me. Don't expect results or customer service from these people.

Where do I begin? We had a man (Jose Rodriguez an assistant) stopped by around lunch a few weeks ago. Put a door hanger to discuss the conditions of our driveway. Even though multiple houses around have clear violations and THEY DO NOTHING ABOUT IT…. He requested a call. My wife has called MULTIPLE times with no answer or call back. She also tried to call today and of course the codes department is closed at 2:40pm on a Wednesday…. Jose came back and left another door hanger said we needed a permit for a driveway right of way. Instead of answering his phone and returning phone calls to actually discuss the matter like originally on the hanger he just slaps another hanger on the door.… What he is “identifying” as a driveway is in fact not a driveway at all and was there when we moved in. The city can go back and look at photographs through the history of ownership. The area he is calling a driveway has the same mulch minus some rock at the end that meets the street to stop the mulch from pouring into road and going down into the sewer drain. Get it together and find better things to do code compliance department or do your job and answeActually answer your phone and talk to the residents. Unprofessional, lazy, inefficient and terrible use of resources as usual from the city of St. Petersburg…. As usual. If I could give less stars I certainly would.

All I can say is look at the fence around Lake Emerald next time you drive by. City should be paying 100 dollars a day for that dilapidated fence. Total code violation. They send code enforcement to the people who are actually trying to improve their neighborhoods the right way.

I never expected to have such a great experience with a codes compliance department. The code inspector for our area is Kylie Noonan. She is full of information on what is expected of the residents, shows compassion and her professionalism is impeccable! She is definitely an asset to this department and we really appreciate her for guiding us in what is expected.

They made me paint my house, but not worried about the neighbors with plywood. Or abandoned vehicles hypocritical double standard government. I see why they only have 2 and a 1/2 stars.

The city of Saint Petersburg codes department does not offer any actual assistance and they absolutely do not ever keep any of their promises even when they make those promised in front of multiple witnesses and then change their promises contingent on whatever they decide is going to be the prize for that day. They conduct pseudo/quasi legal hearings against property owners without offering them proper notification of such hearings that when you don't appear because you aren't a genie, medium, psychic or clairvoyant, you get a notice a month later after you receive absolutely no communication of any kind that you are being levied tens of thousands of dollars of liens against your homesteaded property that is owned free and clear. This is absolutely a way to steal homes. I paid over three grand to paint my home, built a kit shed that was 6x 8 feet which cost me over ten thousand dollars to have with labor and materials yet my partner is told in my unavoidable absence that not only does this beautiful shed that according to city codes does not require the homeowner to get a permit to put together on a homeowners property where there is a 10k dollar privacy fence around the entire backyard but, the codes manager and director can show up and photograph over the fence, enter your home without your permission, decide to fine a homeowner 500dollars a day and try to take over a man's home for outdoor storage that occurred because of constant illegal dumping on his property and the homeowners kind heart of finding things, fixing things and giving things to people who desperately need them. They threatened my partner who was told if he didn't get rid of everything, 191k dollars of my personal property consisting of new building materials , priceless antique yard statuaries, sealed outdoor Rubbermaid storage containers that were made specifically outdoor storage which are not visible from the start level and are being stored on proper racks and locked outdoor shelving units under. I was unfairly targeted, harassed and routinely treated like I had no rights and every department the city's managers were in full cooperative to terrorize, exaggerate, build support and condone what amounts to nothing55 less than a witch hunt based on opinions of people running their departments any regard to the laws of Florida. Their opinions are the law and they believe that they aren't required to follow any state statues and jatjsllllprivacy laws, return phone calls, provide proper notice of secret special magistrate meetings where the magistrate is given absolute authority to destut55, full and non contestant authority to destroy innocent peoples lives by whatever means possible, many of which are are complete maleficent goissip based on speculatiinllon, the art of war mindset and they are ruthless, unkind and incapable of staying honest, crushing gossip abc lies. They will stop at nothing to reinvent the rules, incite riots against a homeowner who was unfairly targeted, judged and treated like a low life scumbag because of the lies and fraud they perpetuate and nurture while calling their family, friends and others who are offered hellp for a high price..not gonna be tolerant of half truths and the bullies who think they are literal gods, God's going to bring this ship safely home. I just think I deserve to be compensated for every single thing I lost as the direct result of the supervisor"s false promises, incendiarilly 4 sir yand opinions statements

Overall positive experience. I was unknowingly in violation of a couple of codes. The compliance officer was polite and professional, patiently answered all my questions and gave me extra info so I could educate myself. I needed to speak to a supervisor for clarity. He called me the same day and while we played phone tag a bit once we were able to communicate he was also professional and pleasant. We came to a reasonable resolution for everyone. I always hear that codes compliance is a pain to deal with and I was stressed about my situation. However, they sincerely did their job well and were nice about it which made all the difference.
