I bought some 1x6x8 tongue and groove and out of 191 piece I had around 40 pieces that were off size. I measured them In the pictures I added so you could see the proof. I message southern wood specialties about what I found and I was immediately blamed for the defect. They said that the wood had got wet and that is why they were offsize. These boards were consistently offsize on the same end and were not wet. They are a really bad company to do business with as they got me for over $250 in bad wood. They offered to split it and give me $125 dollars because it was apparently my fault. I could see and would understand if this would actually had got wet but this was not the case. My wood did not get wet. It mis manufactured plain and simple. I would not recommend this company to any one for any product.

Went to pick up some deal packs on the tongue and groove flooring. Decided I'd get the T1-11 treated while I was there and save another six hour round trip. The flooring looked good. I asked about the blemishes on the T1-11. Fellow said it was shop grade. It was there regular price. After I got home and went to unloading numerous pieces were damaged other than in the corner where I saw at the business. Holes in the boards. One board had an area that wasn't board. Just empty space. The sun shined on one board and it started unraveling. have to replace more than 10 boards out of 50. I'd always told everyone to come here for deals. Never again.

The quality of wood they stock surpasses anything you’ve seen before! They stock some of the most unique and beautiful species of wood. They are super friendly and willing to help! I feel blessed to have found this place and look forward to each trip. If you have not at least gone to take a look and you need wood you are shooting yourself in the foot! As a local contractor I want to provide my clients with the best possible materials I can, this is the place!

Oh did I forget to mention that their prices are amazing as well?!? Well they are!

Disappointed in my purchase. Flooring planks are inconsistent with quality, width and many are bowed or cut crooked making them unusable.

I bought the pine t and g flooring seconds and was extremely pleased with the service to load for me, to match what I had to match, and that the quality was amazing. I only had a problem with one board with the groove to tight. But found another it would fit and used them at the last part. I got numerous complements on the front porch job and saved a great deal of money. That last part was important as I would not have been able to afford to do it at lumber store prices. Besides that I don't think their quality is better. I am very very pleased. Will be a regular customer.

Prices are unbeatable but the man in the front office had a bad attitude. Shaking his head, huffing and puffing as if buying their product was an inconvenience to him. The gentlemen doing the loading were great.

After 4 generations, staff is pretty well watered down. Only advice I got was...dunno. Get a firm quote before you go...not easy to do since they don't answer email. Here's hoping Alabama wins national championship every year providing the staff rich fulfilling lives.
