They are prompt with responding to my questions, patient and consistent with follow-up of action items from both parties. I feel surprised that there aren't more negative reviews. I can't imagine that my experience is unique here. Still, I want to post MY experience, and that's all this was.

Kevin and Nazarita are nice. However, I got a weird sense that their object was to INCREASE the drama instead of calming things down. When my husband refused the "free consultation," Kevin seemed to take it really personally. When Kevin got an email from the law firm who'd written the prenup for us in Georgia, Kevin called me and asked "Why do you think your husband is so angry at you?" and called my husband "damaged" and "aggressive." All that had happened was that my husband called the lawyer he's been dealing with for a decade to get her help, which Kevin would have known had he done some investigation instead of calling me first thing in the morning and acting like my husband was on the attack. There was NO need to freak me out like that, let alone call my husband names. I should have backed out then, but I was afraid and vulnerable, so I kept them on.

Later, as I was starting to get the picture that they were trying to make things worse and not better, Kevin called me early in the morning again. When I didn't answer he emailed me "let's have a phone call." When I said I was working until 6, he sent a LONG email to myself and my husband in which he chose to finally disclose that the prenup would likely be unenforceable in California but hey, it was OK, because he and Nazarita were there to help and again, the consultation was FREE, so what's the harm? The language, though professional, seemed aggressive and made me deeply nervous. Had I seen it ahead of time I would have asked Kevin NOT to send it. However, because I didn't get back to Kevin fast enough, he just went ahead and sent this weirdly inflammatory email.

The last straw was when I emailed my husband, his council, Kevin and Nazarita, and when Kevin got back to us he cut my husband's council out of the loop. He had called her "young" and "inexperienced" to me, but to deliberately exclude her from things rang some serious alarm bells to me.

I asked to get out of our contract. When I asked if I could get any of the over $5000 back that I'd given them, I got an itemized bill saying that I had just so happened to just go over the retainer by about $60 but that they would forgive me the difference. Meanwhile, I hired an actual lawyer for the same price; as of this writing they've met with my husband's council and drafted most of the documentation, been extremely helpful... and they haven't burned through the retainer yet. They've done all the work with none of the upset, and they still haven't spent all the money I've already given them.

If your gut tells you something is up, listen to it. That's what I learned here. I just wish I wasn't $5000 in the hole during a recession and a divorce to learn it.

2 things here:
- very inefficient with his time. I only had a few conversations, and when I decided to stop he said that the budget was over. He even billed me for the phone call I made to tell him it was over. The worst was his accountant help. I didn't need him to do my assets declaration and didn't realize they were charging me so much for his advice (me just showing him on excel what I did, and him super slow to figure things out)
- Kevin gave some advice to increase the court orders (example he wanted to make a court order for me to get the car back, when finally I could just go and get it)
