I had David Lane as my attorney. Yes, he's knowledgeable but I caution everyone from hiring him. Be extremely careful with his emails as he will charge you 15 minutes per email. That's one-quarter of an hour and at $350/hour, that's more than $87 per email. On top of that, most meeting will be futile. That's not to say that other lawyers are different but I can only comment from my personal experience. In my case, David Lane was lazy. If you're not actively managing your time with him then YES, you will pay a lot. I think everyone gets caught up on the meaningless awards he's won and you think you're getting something great. I really wonder about these awards but I haven't really looked into them. Just suspicious about it. A divorce lawyer in a small town in a no-fault state where assets will be divided 50-50 and child support is pretty much determine determined by the California dissomaster. Not too complicated but these lawyers will file for continuances and drag these things on. Have to feel something for the families 🙁

Its really hard to review this. But i will do my best... i was going through custody and wanted the best of the best David lane had been nominated and awarder lawyer of the year which apprently only like a couple lawyers in northern California get that. I paid intially 7,500$ lots of money but he said my case would probably cost about 9-10k so no big deal a couple thousand more. Well... 12 thousand dollars later, i didnt really feel like much was accomplished. To talk and discuss the case for an hr wpuld cost me 360$ and it was always the full hr. Ugh. Good guy though, rough and gets to business. Id go with him again.
