When moving in... the entire apartment smelt like a motel but I was in a urgent need to move due to my health declining at my previous residence. I informed the apartments of my health issues, (even paid to move in, secure my spot and a pet fee for 2 dogs they keep complaining about a month before even moving on the property) I have paperwork for absolutely everything. I moved in the day before the storm. I experienced leaking from my ceiling, walls and a soaked and spoiled carpet that I was left to breathe in for over three months until I called the health department and then informed the apartments I called. I am on my 2nd upper respiratory infection because there is mold covering my outside window and screen and none of the windows are sealed. I was brought a nasty old roach infested dishwasher I have never used straight out of another residents apartment. I have contacted the health department again as well as I have been given great legal advice in regards to the lease agreement and the privacy and peace you must provide your residents especially with safety complaints....so that starts my biggest PROBLEM....The apartments don't mind standing by racism and bigotry. I have reported that as of September 2024 a male resident has been recording me WEEKLY (all is documented) following me through the apartments, recording me from his car, walking past making racial remarks and calling the police on me making up stories to. I have been informed to call the police on these occasions as I have with providing the office with police report numbers as they requested. Nothing has been done. I have requested that the property manager contact me on over five occasions. I have requested to be moved to a different apartment for my safety as well as requested to get out of my lease if that move is not possible. I have received no response on all of the above. I am a female that lives alone. I suffer with health issues and living at these apartments has been a number one source of stress. If I would have been recording the individual I have reported for harassment the office would have gave me a lease violation a long time ago. You know how I know because every so often I get lease violations on my door about my neighbors complaining about my small dogs being "off leash" when their leashes are at my door and I have pictures of over 5 different tenants (that don't look like me) walking their dog with no leash and NO PROBLEMS. . I guess that's more important than addressing the neighbor and making me as a resident feel safe. I have reported this issue multiple occasions keeping up with (each date, occurrence and police report) I have documented everytime I have called and left a message regarding my safety and my calls went unanswered and with zero reply as well as Everytime I was rushed off of the phone because "it's not their problem" and the lady in the office says she is just "the messenger" I work from home and have also requested if the office needs anything from me to please give me call or let me know to come to the office instead of banging on my door due to my job being jeopardized if any background noise is detected in my work area. This request also went ignored effortlessly. I think the icing on the cake was the fact that I don't regularly have any company at all (which is my business) and the very first time I had a guest he came by to walk my dogs because I had just got out of the hospital his shoes were at my door because they were muddy and she rudely asked my guest "if he lived here" mind you this was the very first time he had even been on the property and that was too help me. How RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL especially when you have so many dogs, cats and people living here OFF LEASE. THE NERVE. As a property every resident should feel comfortable stepping out their home. There is no reason I should have to feel uneasy while you make creepy neighbors that feel ENTITLED feel comfortable and at ease. && Don't you dare think you will ever enjoy the pool. It's just a figment of our imagination at this point.

I have lived here going on 2 years now ….. counting down till we can leave! Nothing ever gets done. WORST APARTMENTS ever!

My apartment was not ready when I moved in but I had no choice but to move in ! I have pictures in my folder of the damages to the apartment when I moved in so I don’t get charged . I even had to keep proof in emails because they have tried to trash the information in my folder before so they act like they didn’t have proof but I did in my email.

ROACHES ARE HORRIBLE AND THEY WILL COMMENT I AM SORRY THIS IS YOUR EXPERIENCE WHEN I SAY THEY DON,t CARE THEY DONT CARE.

I thought Barbara was a good person but let’s be honest she is here for a job and that’s it there is no passion in what she does for her community. She lies and try’s to make others believe her but let’s be honest lake Jackson inspection is always here because nothing get done and she doesn’t care again because she is high in the company so it doesn’t matter.

They also hire people who are not certified and for them not to get caught they hire contractors and make them do all the work on what they are not here for. They had a maintenance man doing ac that didn’t have a license. Had the ac man they hired cleaning apartments and refrigerators and I know because I would talk to them and I have recording due to the camera in my house of them Admitting everything.

Not only do they not care about there residents they don’t care about their staff ! DONT MOVE HERE

I have lived here for 13 months now and I finally feel like I can leave a truly positive review now that Oak Leaf Mgmt has taken over the property. Initially, I would have given this place a much harsher review. Roaches, crime, just a lack of standards by the property owners. This place has been through many different property management companies since it was built and it seemed to just keep getting worse and worse (all things I have learned since moving here).

Since Oak Leaf took over, they repainted- which was a nice update- but it didn’t stop there. They are beginning to completely turn the property around and provide consistency in staff which has been a huge problem as well. Dawn (front desk) has been here for all of this and she is the awesome. Very sweet and knowledgeable and she makes you feel like a friend, not a just tenant. My son is autistic and she helped me learn about resources in the area and she is always so patient and friendly to us both when we stop by. Honestly I do consider her a friend at this point and I’m sure others here feel the same. Vicki just came back to manage the office after Barbara had been here during the transition. They are both great and I would have been happy to have Barbara stay (I believe she was here from the corporate office?) but Vicki (who apparently worked here way back) seems to be exactly what this place needs as well. She quickly helped me with some things I needed as well as some things I needed fixed in my unit (my blinds broke and also getting the nut replaced on my ac filter door thing bc I dropped it and can’t find it) and she was kind and didn’t make me feel like I was annoying her even though I know she is busy. The rent has increased a little but not much at all but if this place keeps getting better, it’ll be worth it. I’m excited for this property and those of us living here and hope it keeps improving.

Bad management. There’s a reason you get the first month free. If you’re able to - live anywhere else !! Worst apartment I’ve lived in. They changed rent to be paid online but there’s many times it’s not posted until the 4th which is when it is considered late. Water shut off without notice. Hot water only trinkles in the kitchen sink. Roaches no matter how clean it is or how many traps we put. Even though we pay for pest infestation they have never sprayed or done anything about it. After the storm we had an ant problem because the doors and windows aren’t sealed right (I’m allergic to ants) .There’s a light switch but no light in the living room, you have to buy your own lamps. You can tell bathroom isn’t cleaned after tenants move out because there’s layers of paint coming off on the bathtub. Dishwasher doesn’t even work. Also somebody died here and there was an investigator here, the blood is fading but still visible on the stairs. Overall very disappointing and eager to move. Management will make excuses, you don’t deserve excuses you deserve a home. Look elsewhere!

This trip to lake jackson, this was the first time i visited the place. Very clean, and professional staff. Prices very fair. All questions answered. I am giving this place a 5 star review. Anything less would not be warranted. I am definitely placing this apartment complex as top of my choices of an apartment location to rent from. All questions were answered and i felt very well taken care of.

I have lived at Oyster Creek Apartments for 6 months now. I can’t say enough good about them. I have amazing neighbors that I enjoy. Everyone I encounter is so nice and enjoyable. The maintenance guys are always there if I need them and are super nice. The most important is the management. Although I miss Vickie so much, I hope she’s enjoying her retirement to the fullest. Well deserved. She was a superb manager and was always so kind and caring. I can’t say enough about sweet Dawn in the office. She never hesitates to answer a question, always has a smile on her face, and works so hard to make sure we are all taken care of. She goes above and beyond for us all. She has no idea how much she is appreciated. I highly recommend Oyster Creek Apartments!!
