Unsympathetic staff. The makeup person made my loved one look like a zombie. The skin tone was greenish brown. It was awful. Mr. Mooney seemed like It was a bothersome to have to interact with me. The day after the visitation at the burial he never looked at me, said hello or even offered a hand shake. I have written the funeral home and never received a response. DURING THE ACTUAL funeral they called me into an office to get a check from me. No problem, I gave them one. Later I found out my sister had generously paid my half of the bill for me. My son's mother as to pay for half of this funeral. That was not communicated to me, and a year later they sent me to collections even though I had paid 3/4 of the bill. It's sick and Mr. Mooney was at the burial the next next day and said to my father : I hope Tim will be okay and doesn't kill himself." How messed up is that!? He had absolutely no reason to think this and went out of his way to make sure he biked me out of more money and avoided me during the burial. Shame on him.them.

My family has always used Oltmann Funeral Home. The staff there is very helpful and considerate. Jeff was so nice and thoughtful while seeing to the details of my mother's funeral. We really appreciated how he handled her final arrangements. He was both professional and compassionate, which helped us honor mom one final time.

Losing our dad was the hardest time of our lives, but the people at Oltmann Funeral Home helped in so many ways… some, they may not even be aware of. They came to console our family when they picked him up from our home after passing away. They didn’t just walk us through the funeral process… they walked WITH us as we navigated this devastating time. Jeff was truly amazing… kind hearted, caring, understanding, efficient, knowledgeable… the list could go on and on! There is no one else I would ever even think about spending these rough times in our life with.

If I could give this funeral home 10 stars I would ! This funeral home just did a wonderful job for our family! I could not recommend them more. Jeff at Oltmann’s was extremely sympathetic when he was helping my girls and I pick out all of the funeral options. He was never pushy and was calm even though at the time there was a family dynamic that we had going on that was difficult to be around. Jeff could honestly not have been nicer. Just a perfect employee and a true gentlemen from what we experienced. The best part about Oltmann’s is they never pressure you to buy something bigger or better if you don’t want that. And besides that their final prices were just amazing! So much less expensive than anyone in St. Louis or even from other funeral homes in Washington who charged twice as much. Obviously no funeral is going to be free of costs but if you compare prices Oltmann’s is the best priced and priced fairly. It is also nice that if you have some life insurance coming they can just bill that life insurance company so you do not need to pay anything upfront usually. Another added benefit to Oltmann’s is that the inside decor and room we used for the service is very beautifully decorated with soothing colors and modern updates. It is certainly not what you see at some funeral homes where everything is dark and dreary. This is a large and comfortable place to gather. I honestly could not be happier with this business and I don’t think they could have done anything better than what they did for my husband’s service. They were even able to get a priest at the last minute to perform our service even though my husband had not attended church for some time and this pleased his parents who were Catholic very much. Again Jeff’s calm and patient demeanor, along with his professionalism made what could have been a difficult experience actually a comforting one for our entire family. Thank you to Jeff and to the entire staff at Oltmann’s!

I chose Oltmann’s the night the sheriff walked into my house to tell me my son had taken his life. I’m not going to lie, it was the first funeral I had to plan, and I was in no state of mind to decide anything. I just said, “that one right here in town, Oltmann’s or whatever.”

And I thank God for Jeff Kessels and Jessica Oltmann. They held my shattered heart, and gently loved me along through the worst process of my entire life. They gave me the gift of thinking for me, and they were so respectful and loving handling my son’s body. These are things you don’t know matter, until you’re burying your child. I would say the work they do is Holy. I’m blessed, even though I chose them blindly.
