The location is right in the middle of a bustling little town. The building looks as if it's from the 60s, although well maintained outwardly. Inside is business as usual. The courtrooms are a little packed for such a small area. The marshals at the door give you the typical ushering in. It is not a place I'd want to go to because if you are going here you probably are not happy to be here.

Been running on the judicial hamster wheel here for almost five years battling for my now six year old daughter. A few tips: 1) Thoroughly vet your prospective attorneys and be sure to choose the right one. 2) If you’re scared, don’t know your rights, etc. you will be steamrolled into submission. Feelings don’t fly in this courthouse. Do your homework and show up with confidence. 3) Make it a habit to check your docket and make sure all the information is correct. Register as a self-represented party asap so you are able to access your case file online anywhere. I cannot stress this enough. The “coders” sometimes put the wrong wording on your publicly-accessible case file (this isn’t just family court, criminal court has done this too). I addressed this with Eric at the Family Court clerk’s office and was told that the coders would fix it. This was several months ago and nothing has happened. Keep an eye on the little mistakes and ambiguities that are made in documents and do not be afraid to address them as soon as you can or better, before you sign anything! Don’t let the little mistakes form into a mountain. 4) Never give up on your family. Good luck 🤞

So on my day of court, I couldn’t get into my email due to the fact of it was hacked have all the photos to actually prove this that being said this state of Connecticut decided they were going to violate my rights since I do not live in the state of Connecticut and allow child support in the state of Connecticut from the state of Maine That being said, is that actually possible for them to do like there’s gonna be a lawsuit on the state of Connecticut? I really hope they’re ready for their screwup. Let’s go family judge. Because right now I’m coming for your job .

Had to file at the clerks office today. I was helped right away by a younger gentlemen, then also by I believe the housing clerk. I wish I would of got their names. They were very helpful and kind. Paperwork like that is very overwhelming and complicated for me to understand. One of them went over exactly what I needed to fill out page by page and highlighted the areas. I’m sure their job isn’t easy so I would just like to thank them for again for being so kind and making the process as easy as possible today for me.

Sign on front door and the website says building opens at 0830. This proved not to be the case on 3 separate occasions. Consider yourself lucky if the front door gets unlocked by 0845 to allow you entry.

Allows landlords to illegally retaliatory evict tenants without listening to all of the evidence the tenants have against the landlord. Courthouse judges just don’t care about the fact it’s illegal what the landlord is doing, they just wanna get rid of the case as fast as they can.

The staff treat the people waiting with such disrespect it is shocking. when working in a setting such as this one would think they would speak to people in a more professional and respectable manner, especially when I am speaking to them in a professional and respectful manner. The staff definitely needs to be retrained on their people skills.

Meh. The clerk kept making me come back over and over, day after day, because i needed extra forms to file for a divorce. Why not just tell me on Day One? Why keep trailing me along, making me come back? Very weird experience. They're likely not paid well enough to care. I get it, I guess.
