OK, so this is NOT a Mexican restaurant anymore. The chicken fried chicken was the best Ive ever had. The mashed potatoes and mac and cheese were awesome sides too. My wife has the salmon and also said how great it was. We had the chips and queso for an appetizer. The queso was just a little bit too cold but not bad enough to ask to be reheated. Beyond the food being so good... the employees were super nice, very fast and attentive. We even got to talk to the chef. Wonderful place.

I was pleasantly surprised by just how good this food is. I decided to try Mockingbird without much knowledge of the place and walked in expecting your typical taqueria food. Well, my expectations were entirely incorrect. While the restaurant is still transitioning and is rather new, the food quality, presentation, and chef-driven menu were 5-star to say the least. This food is excellent and I will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a more authentic style of Mexican food. Everything is fresh, looks beautiful, and the service is top notch. The new chef, Eric, is one of the best in the area and his new menu is proof enough to back this statement up. Do not pass this place up based upon appearance and location as the atmosphere is sure to improve, but the food is what will bring you back time and time again.

Loved it. The food is really good the waiter was on top of everything and the owner went to our table to talk to me and my wife. We order the chicharrone which is cooked fresh because you can hear it still popping at your table. My wife order the chicken fried steak which was huge and cooked perfectly. I ordered the Mocking-burger, which was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Highly recommend.

Our first visit to the Mockingbird, Excellent service and exceptional food - pleasantly surprised to have this gem in Fulshear! I had the soup, and it was amazing - my husband had the tacos al pastor and it did not disappoint. The margaritas were first rate. Will be back!

Had the chicken fried chicken on 8/31/18. It was the largest and the best chicken fried chicken I’ve ever had. They do not skimp on portions!! They chicken fried chicken wasn’t all batter with a chicken nugget inside. The sides was awesome as well. The Mockingbird is a hidden gem in Fulshear.

Had Chipotle Shrimp Scampi and Chicken fried chicken and THE FOOD WAS SERVED HOT! Home made fresh light,crispy, spicy CHICHORONES/ pig skins (spicy upon request) were out of this world! Neil's speciall request margaritas were outstanding! Definitely a well kept secret! Menu change! Not a mexican food resturant anymore! 4+ FOR SURE!

Been here 4 times, starting from before Jeff bought it. Stopped in 2 weeks ago and really liked the new menu. I had the shrimp scampi and it was great. Nice job Jeff in building this into a top notch place.

Love the new menu, entrees are priced in line for what you get and they are yummy. Burgers are great also just wish they where a few bucks cheaper. I am very hopeful they will have great success with their new direction and menu.
