The problem here is dirty Building inspector like the current ones have to much power to make your project very complicated and hold up progress. I know I am not the only one think this. I'm currently having an issue with the Building inspector and they are like politicians corrupt! . We need rich back there he was a true respected Building official. I sent to be fair to town of meriden and tell the story here , my father inlaw is doing a small metal garage no sink no bathroom just 1 hose bib
The inspector (jim ) is not giving us a permit because he wants gas line in the slab . Show us in code book we're to find gas line for a garage has to be in slab ?
We most certainly can have gas line coming up and in thro Building.
Also water from existing house to garage only used for a hose bib in summer time and drained inwinter time doesn't have to go through foundation . Jim is a corrupt build Inspector, I know this because I called 3 other towns Building department and asked is this would be an issue and guess what all 3 said? ..... no sir that wouldn't be a little issue. Building inspector have way touch power! State inspector needs to get involved.
For the most part everyone else is nice .

Everyone is super polite and helpful.. and Ms Cruz is rock star .. part time inspector jimmy is super professional and helpful and mrs green very awesome inspector and Ms Lisa will get your permits going very fast .. love this building department!!!!!!!! One of the best !!!!
