Because I had no other similar experience in this field, I had no expectations. However, as an educator with fifty (!) years in the classroom, I do know teaching. If a student wasn't engaged in this class, it was not the fault of the teachers nor the materials.
Char and Pete were knowledgeable, engaging, and patient. They anticipated questions, tied in prior knowledge, and were clearly passionate about mediation.
I think what I appreciated most about this class was that neither instructor was afraid to go off topic to tell a story as an example. Then it was back to work. The days went by quickly. If it hadn't have been verboten, I would have recorded it. Their roles were clearly defined, and except for the introductions, they most presented a part, so there was no talking over or confusion.
This is a great deal of money for me, but I felt I walked away with a good start. Thank you, all.

I REALLY enjoyed the 40-Hour Basic Mediation training I completed last week. I learned so much and I really appreciate the way they presented and organized the curriculum. I feel like I’ve walked away with a ton of resources and well-developed and effective tactics and strategies to employ. I feel completely prepared to launch my mediation services. I’ve been through many, many trainings over the years and this is one of/the best I’ve had. The time flew by as they kept it engaging and interesting. It was definitely NOT a death by PowerPoint situation, but included interesting and productive discussion, role plays (good ones), a guest speaker, much informative Q&A, and more. I've enrolled in the Advanced Mediation Training - and wouldn't think of looking elsewhere to continue my training. Pete and Char are so personable, experienced, patient, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend their training programs.

I recently completed the 40 hour basic mediation course through MAA, and the course exceeded every expectation. I found the course to be very well-paced and engaging. It was time well-spent, and I feel that it prepared me to begin my journey into the mediation world. I cannot thank Char, Pete, and the staff of MAA enough. Great job!

The class was very informative & Instructors were very attentive to questions. Answers were clear & non degrading of students. I took basics from another school & realized too late that I had made a mistake. Solely my opinion only.

They have a sincere interest in your success and it shows in every single detail. I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking to mediate. Thank you Char and Peter!

Just finished the basic mediation class last week, and this weekend used many of the skills I learned to "mediate" my own client into an agreement rather than a hostile court fight that would not have gone well for him. Class itself was excellent, never dull or boring, and I can't think of any part of the curriculum that won't be useful to me. Highly recommended.
