I recently engaged the services of Mr. MARCUS for my child’s case and, unfortunately, my experience did not meet the expectations set by other reviews. While I appreciate Mr. MARCUS's expertise in the field, I felt that the representation provided was not aligned with my child’s best interests, which was concerning and disappointing. It seemed there was a bias that did not favor a fair outlook for my child's situation.

I would encourage Mr. MARCUS to ensure that the representation of all parties' interests, especially those of minors, is balanced and fair in future cases. This feedback is intended to be constructive and I hope it will be taken into consideration.

In November 2006, I hired Attorney Steven Marcus to represent me in my very long, nasty divorce. Steven Marcus is truly a Saint. I feel extremely lucky to have finally found a wonderful attorney who can deliver. I have been dealing with my divorce/custody issues for the past three years with other attorneys. The first attorney took all my money and did nothing. The second attorney barely charged anything but also dragged out the case so much longer (in essence costing me more!) and because she wasn't aggressive in the least bit, it only welcomed my ex to continuously and aggressively come after me. Attorney Steven Marcus is the very best family law trial attorney I’ve ever witnessed in the courtroom! After four years of retaining various wishy-washy attorneys, in addition to representing myself at times, Attorney Marcus took over my high-conflict family law case, which includes ongoing custody/visitation/child and spousal support issues at a complex point where several other attorneys have been reluctant to take on.

During my initial meeting with Attorney Marcus, I was overwhelmed with all kinds of unresolved problems, but he took his time to calm me down and understand the history and outstanding issues in an unhurried, professional manner. He attentively listened to all of my concerns and gave me honest, objective advice on how to proceed... while not just telling me what I wanted to hear! Attorney Marcus can be described as very competent, knowledgable, responsive, no-nonsense, and direct. Although I figured his persistent and assertive style would help me, I did not realize just how much his representation would make such a difference until I witnessed him in action. His confidence in the courtroom is undeniable... and exactly what I needed!

Don’t go it alone thinking you will save money... and don’t retain a mediocre attorney who will not aggressively fight for everything you deserve! If not for Attorney Marcus, I would merely have a judgment and orders on paper that continued to not be followed. Among other resolved issues, I now have a repayment plan for the $30,000+ in child/spousal support arrearages that I would not have been able to enforce on my own, and more importantly, I have a confident, competent and aggressive attorney in my corner, both in and out of the courtroom, to deal with unpleasant situations as they arise. I highly recommend retaining Steven Marcus for any family law issues. My only regret is that I did not find him sooner!
