As a self-represented party, I unfortunately had to interact with Steven Chroman. He represented my former spouse, a member of the clergy, in my family law case.

Steven Chroman repeatedly misrepresented my former spouse’s income on his financial disclosures for child support purposes. (This is easily verifiable. The financial disclosures and documents that support income are public record.)

It is profoundly disturbing that Steven Chroman chose to suborn perjury when preparing my former spouse’s Income and Expense Declarations. Engaging in a pattern of making materially false statements of facts on financial disclosures is an act of moral turpitude. It is a crime (FRAUD) to fail to disclose a material fact or to make any knowingly false material statement on a financial disclosure.

Steven Chroman took an ethical oath to practice law. Yet, he chose to breach his ethical duty of honesty, thereby violating Rules of Professional Conduct and Business and Professional Codes. (Rule 3.4 Fairness to Opposing Party; Rule 4.1 Truthfulness in Statements to Others; Rule 8.4 Engaging in Conduct Involving Dishonesty, Fraud, Deceit or Misrepresentation; Code 6106: Any Act Involving Misrepresentation; Code 6068: Duties of Attorney; Code 6128: Intent to Deceive a Party; etc.)

It is troubling that Steven Chroman has no compunction for deliberately understating my former spouse’s income to reduce/eliminate child support.

Divorce is never easy, but with a really great attorney handling the heavy lifting, you can continue to live your life while going through the process and come through the other side with your integrity and sanity intact. Steven Chroman and his staff provided this, and so much more for me and my children.
Believe me, I know just how frustrating and stressful it can be without proper representation because I started my divorce without it, enlisting a different attorney to help me with just the filings. Disastrous. I definitely do not recommend that approach for anyone, even if you think your divorce will be “amicable.” My ex had representation in the courtroom almost immediately. Every time we appeared before the judge, my stomach was twisted in knots and I would leave feeling a wreck. I couldn’t sleep or relax between appearances, overwhelmed by the financial and emotional toll. It felt like my entire life revolved around the divorce case and I was making a mess of it. Then Steven Chroman took over the case, relieving much of the pressure as he steadily unraveled the mess.
Our divorce was especially long (4+ years) and complicated, with, dozens of court appearances, hundreds of filings, and multiple attorneys - our children were represented by 2 different Minor’s Counsel and my ex went through 4 attorneys of his own
Throughout the case, he kept me focused on what mattered most. He did his best to avoid the expense of court appearances whenever possible but never compromised on the important issues. He never made promises he couldn’t absolutely keep. He didn’t just tell me what I wanted to hear or let my emotions rule the day. He was always candid about the options and likelihood of each of the possible outcomes, but also mindful of emotionally sensitive issues, like the DV restraining order, which he successfully obtained. As a result, I never felt blind-sided by the court rulings, even when they didn’t go our way, which was rare.
Our many court appearances gave me an opportunity to witness other attorneys in action, not only the ones involved in our case, but others, including a couple high profile ones, and I always walked out of the courtroom grateful that I was represented by Steven. Steven is a killer litigator. I witnessed him repeatedly dismantle my ex’s misleading and false claims in cross-examination and deposition. No theatrics, no dirty tricks, just compelling, clear, logical, fact- and law-based arguments.
After much foot dragging by my ex, even after we reached a settlement, my divorce case is fully adjudicated, and all the issue are resolved. Thanks to Steven and his staff, I have no regrets, no self-doubts about the settlement, and no bitterness, just gratitude to be on the other side of it with a fighting chance to move on and rebuild our lives with the tools and resources Steven and his staff helped put into place. We’re in a stronger and more stable place and for that I am eternally grateful.

Steve Chroman and his office team were, and still are, an outstanding source of Family Law expertise, knowledge and professionalism to me. He represented me in my divorce, and strategically navigated my case issues, as well as all courthouse legal pitfalls with ease. What’s more, Steve Chroman is a legal “nerd”, obsessed with the honor and legitimacy of the legal profession. I cannot overstate this fact enough. You simply must discover it for yourself.
Steve Chroman never let me down when the going got tough. Hire him; you will sleep better knowing he is on your side. The one star reviews here obviously are from the other side. What losers they are.

Steven Chroman is a dishonest and unethical attorney that should be disbarred. He maliciously lies in court and encourages his clients to do the same. In my case where he represents my ex, he has intentionally lied about not knowing my whereabouts to help my ex get abduction orders granted, then he failed to serve me orders from the hearing, then he lied about serving me, then he created a fake proof of service to cover for his lies. These are just some of the unethical behavior he has demonstrated in my one case. He is also a bully and attempts to manipulate the judge. He lies in court and on legal documents under penalty of perjury. If you have a case against him, be very careful. This is a game to him and he would stop at nothing to win. If he represents you, also be careful. Dishonesty may seem attracted short term if it gets you what you want, but do not be deceived. The truth will come out and you don't want to pay the price for having this unethical man on your team. Hopefully he will be disbarred soon so that the legal profession can be free of him.

Love these negative reviews. Obvious they are reviews written by the opposing side for people he is represented. To me, it's undeniable proof that Mr. Chroman is a master at his craft.

Steven is very conscientious, well respected, and at the same time, feared by his peers (his peers on the other side in court that is). I know first hand Steven to best and most qualified attorney. Especially for High Conflict.

I can't wait to see the negative reviews my ex will be posting on this site anytime time now if she hasn't already. Those negative comments serve as the number one reason you should hire this man. Steven Chroman.
