When I was looking for an attorney to do my living trust, two of my trustworthy friends referred me to Mr. Bernard Pang. My wife and I went to meet Mr. Pang in 2021 and found Mr. Pang professional, knowledgeable and very straight forward. He answered our questions thoroughly and clearly. We went ahead had Mr. Pang to setup our living trust. Over the years, we had a few changes on our trust and Mr. Pang did the amendments promptly at a very reasonable price. I referred quite a few of my friends and clients to Mr. Bernard Pang and I have not heard any complaints from them. One of the reasons I like are Mr. Pang writes the trust all by himself, I think that is very important because he is the one who meets the clients and knows exactly what the clients need. I can understand that some people might not like Mr. Pang being direct. My wife and I are very pleased to work with Mr. Bernard Pang and I will recommend him to all my friends and clients to set up their living trust. By the way, Mr. Bernard Pang and I are not related even we have the same last name.

Although I'm not officially Mr. Pang's client, I'm truly impressed with his genuine sincereness of willing to discuss handful of specific details during an initial consultation for a probate case. Even though he made a rational business decision of rejecting my case (and offering referral to other probate attorney) after considering possible uncertain legal complications when another heir is not being cooperative at the moment; I do admire his thoughtfulness and up front honesty.

An Unpleasant Experience

My wife and I visited Mr. Pang's office with a friend in May 2024. We were looking to meet & discuss with Mr. Pang about setting up a living trust and had some questions and was hoping for his guidance in this matter. However, what we experienced instead was a very unpleasant & frankly, very rude interaction. We were initially interested in executing the trust with Mr. Pang due to the reasonable prices advertised. However, after today I am definitely going elsewhere.

One of the most uncomfortable factors was how short tempered Mr. Pang was. At one point in our conversation, we simply had the question about how edits and adjustments work - in the off chance we'd need one upon initial draft review. He outright said that any additional changes or edits to the first draft of the trust will incur additional fees. After that, we simply asked him to have an item-by-item explanation of the living trust paper. Immediately we were accused of being "picky clients" and Mr. Pang openly proclaimed how he "was apprehensive in dealing with those types of people." This was all said while pointing an accusing finger straight at my nose. We were extremely taken aback and shocked, as we had no intention of being "picky," but were just cautious about the process and wanted to have all our bases covered by understanding everything. He also proudly proclaimed that his prices were the lowest among others, and because of that, any additional charges are reasonable.

We had initially brought along our friend as she had questions for herself, as she was also interested in seeking a lawyer for setting up a trust. Mr. Pang permitted her only 2 questions, but upon viewing the exchange & interaction she was extremely intimidated and decided to forsake her inquiries.
