I retained James Neavitt to represent me in a high-conflict and complex divorce which included custody, support, and division of assets including our family business. The minute my EX was served with my divorce, he rallied to lock up all of our funds; suppress his income; transfer our assets to his relatives; refuse to pay court-ordered support and came at me with 8 different attorneys. Mr. Neavitt was the only attorney who could ferret through the intangible mess my EX created. In the end, I was awarded all of my past due support and property division totaling $1.8 million - and then Mr. Neavitt successfully petitioned the court for my EX to pay my attorney fees and costs! I didn't even get a chance to speak with an attorney.

I called the office to discuss my divorce and custody, and we set up a phone call with the attorney. I was told if he didn't call me to text the office manager. He didn't call, I texted and we "rescheduled" for the following day.

I again waited, no call. I texted the manager (Karen) again, and she called me back only to go over everything we had discussed the previous day. I was again told that the attorney would call me to discuss my divorce and retainer.

Later in the day, another person from the office called me (Jenna) to "see if I had any further questions." I said yes, I wanted to speak with the attorney. She told me they charge for a consultation. When I mentioned that several other attorneys would do consults, she became insulting. She then said to me that "you get what you pay for," and "I probably couldn't afford them, but she could refer me to a less expensive attorney."

I have worked with family a family law attorney before and have a few different consultations. My last attorney was great but has since retired. He never changed a consult fee, and I had referred several people to him.

This office is rude, disorganized, and unprofessional. I will happily take my 5k retainer to a more professional firm.

It is easy to see why there are no positive reviews for this attorney.

It's always important to do your research and not be bullied or belittled into a retainer.

I am very glad I used Mr. Neavitt for my divorce. It was a prolonged and ugly process, thanks to my ex and his money-hungry attorney, and Mr. Neavitt handled all the proceedings with professionalism and courtesy. He waived his fees on numerous occasions, and fought for me in court. I recommend him.

He navigated through covid shut downs, and court delays with precision. Friendly associate attorney, and office staff were Compassionate, and helpful.

Inept and unprofessional attorney and office. He waits five years to come back asking for money owed with interest accrued. As well, he drags out cases as long as possible to make money for himself. Everyone I have spoken with who has used him had nothing good to say. Stay away from him.
