DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
I made a reservation at Gotrentalcars.com in August of 2024 for Feb of 2025. My husband made a mistake and paid using a reported stolen card, so I had to pay with my card in Dec 2024. The total amount was $85.00 for 4 days. I requested unlimited mileage as I always do when I reserve cars in Puerto Rico for 8 days : Mon-Mon. It was about the same amount we get quoted for a whole week without tolls added. So I thought I was paying for the car. When we got to the rental office, there was no reservation and no previous payment. We were informed Gotrentalcars.com was a 3rd party and the information was not in their system, nor the payment showed and my husband paid $340.74for 4 days plus tolls plus unlimited mileage because" Floridians have a limit of 50 miles per day"; however if you are driving from Orlando to the keys, that rule does not make you reach your hotel reservation on time So we paid and as soon as we returned I called Got rentalcars.com explained what happened and requested a refund. that was 3/3/2025. The CSR found my reservation at first try, verified I had chosen unlimited and paid for the cost of the car and offered to open a claim with the rental office as to why they charged my husband again. I was to give it 3-4 days for the resolution. I called again on 3/11/2025 . The lines and queues were busy so I had to leave a message which ‘supposedly’ would be returned the same day. Not really! So I called again 3/12/2025 and this time the rep could not find my reservation nor any information about my rental. She needed to research it and would call me back. At this point I know this is a scam because I have read about people complaining about this same behavior and never getting their refund back.

Do not book through this company. Complete scam. I booked a 4 day rental at SFO through Thrifty for $140. I show up to Thrifty, they look up the reservation and say I owe $283 if I want to pick up the car... I say how is this possible, they say the booking number does not show any credit towards the cost, they just reserved the car at this rate. Even more ridiculous I was able to create a new reservation at the counter at Thrifty for $173 dollars total... Never use this company

I had a terrible experience with this rental company. They charged me twice for insurance, and when I pointed it out, the employee working on Friday evening, March 7, 2025, was completely indifferent and unhelpful. It’s unacceptable for someone with such a lack of professionalism to work in customer service. This company is untrustworthy, and I would not recommend it to anyone.

If you want to be charged unnecessary, expensive fees and be frustrated with an off-brand rental company, then this is your place. I was charged a fee that was more than half the cost of a 2 week rental. I made a reservation online for the following day, only to find out my flight was delayed. Very soon after making the reservation, I called and left messages along with sending emails to let them know that I won't be able to pick up the car at the scheduled time. Because they have limited customer service hours, they were able to claim they didn't receive the calls or emails until after the pick up time. Though they were able to hear the messages and see the emails before the pickup time, they we're still able to charge me because they can simply claim not to have seen it in time.

So there's a big problem with a small, no name company that doesn't have a convenient customer service. You can't even speak to somebody in person, as their resolution team is only handled online.

I don't recommend dealing with a company like this that has poor customer service and creates inconveniences in order to charge you more money when you're desperate for a vehicle in a foreign country.

Unfortunately the European / UK branch of this company took payment for the
booking and then denied receiving the money and denied calls with customer services, were extremely rude, cancelled the booking and have refused to refund the money. I'm not clear if this is intentional fraud or incompetence but I would warn other customers to avoid.

This was for a rental at DFW. As I located this company on Kayak and was linked through them, I never directly accessed the GotRentalCars.com website. I received a thorough confirmation email with everything I needed - or so I thought. When we had to cancel our trip I tried calling the phone numbers on the email, but no answer - turns out they're closed on weekends! The actual rental car company said that they couldn't cancel for me; it had to be done through GotRentalCars.com. Finally, I was able to make phone contact Monday, (sweet young gal, not used to dealing with seniors...)so I was charged a $50 late cancellation fee. I asked how I could have avoided that and was told I could have done it through their "portal". I asked what that was, and finally got that she meant their website (which was NOT on the "thorough" email I had received). All to say, if that instruction had been more clear, I could have saved myself a LOT of headache!

AVOID - at all costs!! been chasing a refund for over 2 months, provided all documentation. no email responses. Contact centre is unhelpful, seems like they have only been taught to say 'email us and that's it' no common sense or logical solutions to problem situations. My question is ' what's the point of emailing if the customer never get a response to his/her enquiry for months!!

I booked a car with them, flight was delayed and I cancelled the rental because I didn’t need it. I was told several times I would receive refund because I didn’t pick up my car. Long story short I didn’t receive a refund and I tired to dispute it with my credit card, they wouldn’t allow me to receive the refund. I reported the to better business bureau.
