No frills, but just what you need after a long day outdoors. Beds were fine, AC works great, good water pressure in the bathroom, and very quiet location. If you're not planning on spending a ton of time in your hotel, this is just right for the value.

Stains on the sheets, and the place reeks, the workers don't even work, the soda machine barley work, they don't refill, and they don't clean, I'd rather just stay inside a popcorn machine, electricity went out and we had to switch the room we already bought we had to rent again, and again the workers don't check on the stuff, the fridge was spilling ice and it was wet and stuff, the manager yelled and screamed and shouted, she had to raise a tone and she was talking all about it like we in 90 degree weather you expect us to stay in here, never gonna come again this place is just bad. also they are racist.

( A summary and rap I spent 2 minutes on )

My husband and I were in Garrison for work purposes and this motel was the perfect fit. It's an older building but well-taken care of: clean and comfortable, no odor, and had everything we needed for a very low cost. There was a mini-fridge in the room and a microwave in the lobby, just a few steps from our room's door. Super easy to get out the door early in the morning. My favorites: the 24/7 coffee and the ice & water machine for filling bottles & coolers - really handy for outdoor work in August! Given the low cost, the convenience and the friendly staff, I think it deserves 5 stars.

This was a great little cabin for a hunting trip. I'd say that's pretty much the main thing this would be good for - and it appears that is it's primary use. There isn't a whole lot to do in Garrison ND other than hunting and fishing.

We were a party of 5 with 4 dogs. There are two bedrooms in this particular cabin. One sleeps 2 on 2 full side-by-side beds and the other sleeps 4 in 2 queen sized bunk beds. Then there is a loft-like area which could sleep 2 more and in the living cum kitchen cum dining room there is a futon. The loft had an inflatable mattress with a pump handy.

Only one bathroom and the shower is pretty small - think cruise size. The hot water never stopped - I was worried it would. But even with 5 men taking showers one after the other the hot water never stopped. Plenty of hot water.

The heating in the cabin was difficult to figure out. Every room has a radiator and the knob to control it was manual (not digital). It just meant that the cabin could get really warm. We were never worried about getting cold and slept with the windows cracked open a bit.

The kitchen is adequate. The oven and stove work great as does the microwave and fridge. No dishwasher.

Outside there is a picnic table and it had obvious signs of birds being dressed on it. We used it for the same. There are down feathers flying around and there is no mistaking that nearly all the cabins and homes around are actively involved in hunting. So, if this is not your scene, look elsewhere to stay. And you won't have to look far as the Garrison Motel offers regular hotel rooms too.

We had plenty of clean white towels and there was a maid service if we wanted it. In our 7 nights stay there we never once availed of it. We were tracking so much mud into the cabin that we took care of sweeping after ourselves at the end of each day. There was no way to avoid this tracking in of mud. It would have been great if there were those shoe/boot brushes outside the door but even that would not really be of all that help.

There is a laundromat literally next door. Closes at 8pm. It has a change machine. Make sure to take cash because the ATM at the grocery store nearby works only with physical cards. The grocery store is adjacent to the laundromat.

For food, across the street/highway is a DQ and downtown is walking distance away. Try the Ye Olde Malt Shop for breakfast/lunch/dinner. They too close at 8. The only other eatery is about 3 miles away - Trot and Trails or something.

i have stayed at this property three times in the last three years on an annual trip. it is is fairly new and well kept. The rooms have always been very clean and comfortable. There is a minimal continental breakfast, toast, donuts, and coffee. The staff has always been over the top friendly. Don't expect the conveniences of a large property. it is a small town of just over one thousand. i will stay there again.

Initially we stopped at the Northern Inn and Suites and there was a scheduling issue so the woman at the desk checked with the Garrison Motel and Cabins. She was very accommodating. ||||We stayed in Western themed cabin #6. It is a cozy, two-bedroom with bathroom (shower only), living area and kitchen. There’s a grill outside with a full sized picnic table. There are two twin beds, a dresser and closet in each of the bedrooms. There is no table and chairs inside, only two chair height stools and a bar height counter to eat at. There is a leather (or pleather) full sized sofa that we believe may have turned into a bed and there was one recliner. TV was good. The shower didn’t have much in the way of pressure as I’m guessing it was water-saving. The kitchen sink made me nervous every time I ran the water because the handle was so jiggly. Other than a hole in the carpet in one of the rooms and a broken outlet plate it was very nice and clean.||||There were some noise issues: Trains ran within a couple of blocks and were quite loud at times. Garbage receptacles were located right outside the bedroom by the kitchen. We only knew this because when the truck came for pickup one morning it was quite loud…but didn’t last long. The beds were quite noisy when you got in or out or moved around. I’m guessing it was as quiet as it was because there were no other occupants in the cabins around us. Not sure what it would be like if they’re all occupied.||||My biggest safety concern in this cabin was the location of the microwave. It is up above the stove. I was leery when bringing hot items out from such a height.||||I don't mean for my review to sound so negative. I'm just trying to share an honest account of our situation. ||||I would definitely stay here again.

No body ever at front desk.
Have to call a number and then they would come.
3 nights ,never got room cleaned or more towels. Would of had to chase someone down I suppose.
Would likely stay elsewhere if coming to ND again.

Hi Garrison Motel, I saw a very disturbing Tweet this morning on Twitter. A page from your employee guide is going viral and very much appears to be discriminating against Native Americans. I would have emailed you about this situation, but you don’t seem to have an email address on your webpage.

I’m quoting the alleged page... “Do not allow guests you deem questionable (drunks, Indians, or broke). We do not want to discriminate but we have had bad luck with natives. Keep it to a bare minimum. If we have 50 rooms open and someone is questionable that comes in, WE ARE FULL!!!!!!!”

I didn’t include all of your exclamation points because it seemed excessive, but I’m sure you get the gist. As a Native American who appears to be very white, I hate to think that I may have walked into your motel and been allowed to stay there while my dark-haired, dark-skinned mother would have been denied entry. Don’t worry, this Native American won’t be staying at your motel.
