I had the opportunity to attend the Social Media & Open Source Investigations course from Covert Media Consulting. The things I learned in class allowed me to streamline my investigations and find information I would have found otherwise. I also appreciated that John and the other instructors are current law enforcement officers. Due to this, they were able to show real world current examples of how the material they taught was applicable and how it helped their investigations. I look forward to attending more training from Cover Media Consulting in the future.

An excellent class from a bona fide expert in social media inner workings, pitfalls, benefits and the legal issues surrounding the industry. This class is presented in a way that tech savvy students will find very helpful, but tech novices will still learn a great deal.

I took an open source media investigation course in 2024. Since then I have been able to apply several different skills that I learned in the course to help locate individuals for my cases, locate digital media for cases that I may have missed prior to this training, and numerous other benefits that are directly related to the training I received. Not to mention, customer service has been excellent anytime I have had a question or issue arise.

As a Crime Analyst I was worried this would be more LEO focused. However, I was mistaken. I gained more knowledge to help me in my investigations in this class in 2 days than I have in 7-day classes. It's jam-packed with tips, databases, search tactics, the list goes on. All things to make my life way easier and looking into cases way more time efficient. John Hock was the instructor for this course, he was extremely straightforward yet knowledgeable on all of these topics but would take as much extra time as needed if there were questions. I highly recommend this course to anyone in the Criminal Justice field.

Covert Media offers great training for law enforcement. To date, I have attended three trainings (Covert Onlince Investigations - 16 hours, Social-Media and Open-Source Investigations - 16 hours, and Social Media/Technology Trafficking Investigations which was taught at a Human Trafficking Conference - 4 hours). I would highly recommend any of these classes that I have taken to other Officers/Detectives, and I plan on attending additional trainings offered by Covert Media.
