This lawyer did an representative of estate for me a few years ago. Did not explain to me how it exactly works. I called him back to ask him about clarification about my case and he wouldn't even speak to me. He took my $ without me having full understanding. And years later finding out he didn't do what I hired him to do.
And I called for questions about it and he declined to speak to me about it. His paralegal was so sincere at first until I called back 2 days later. She got Mr. Coppage on the phone and whatever he told her, everything went to hell. Basicly, Go hire another lawyer because he don't have time.

I hired Denise L. Savage of Coppage Law Firm, LLC in November 2023 to represent me in a federal civil case involving decades of concealed heir property. Over an 18-month period, I paid over $20,000 in retainers, expenses, and document preparation. Despite my full cooperation and providing extensive evidence — including title searches, probate files, affidavits, and property maps — she never filed the promised complaint or produced even a single draft.

Instead, I was repeatedly asked for duplicate information that had already been delivered, reviewed, and billed for. Communication was poor; phone calls went unanswered and emails were ignored. My case was delayed to the point where I risk statute of limitations issues.

In June 2025, without a proper withdrawal letter or returning the work I was charged for, Ms. Savage abruptly ended representation via email, claiming I had “no case.” To add insult to injury, she billed thousands for clerical “organization” of my own documents by a paralegal I never hired. And the paralegal hours in a one week double her hours from 2023-2025.

Based on my experience, I feel misled, undervalued, and financially exploited. I am now filing a complaint with the South Carolina Office of Disciplinary Counsel and pursuing recovery of unearned fees. If you are considering legal representation for property or probate matters, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
