Paying over $375 for one hour consultation is way too much but I paid it. All she was interested seems like was how much money you had vs strategizing on how to keep a client safe & how to win a case. I went to get divorce advice but she wanted to take the case in a criminal manner talking about assault. I was hesitant. I wanna win but not that way. I had to think about it.....as I went home to think about it 2-3 days...I emailed to set up another consult to get a better strategy plan & asked more questions about her experience before I paid my 10k retainer but was told she declined my case and wouldn't tell me why. I'm glad I didn't sign asap and listened to my gut because all of her questions were asking about money & what we owned vs a plan that was caring about divorcing after 37years & all the emotions that are attached to breaking up.
I found a lawyer in Frisco that's very caring and invested in my well being not my checkbook. The goal is to divorce not put someone in jail, like how will I get my money if the person is in jail she's defeating the purpose 🤷🏽. Her resume may be great on paper but with so many emotions flying clients need more than that...they need empathy & sympathy and she lacked both. While I'm telling her my story she's googling my house address to see how much it's worth.
Women, find you a lawyer that actually cares about your safety & well being not if you have the means to pay. I have the funds but my gut told me no not her and it was right. Always listen to that inner voice. IJS
