Hello everyone, I am a known photographer that goes by NYCPhotographer1 on instagram. I am currently homeless due to me waiting for these people to hire me or possibly put me in one of these programs when I was 19 years old I was accepted into one of the programs and then my mom unfortunately, passed away the second day of the program, I was unable to attend the second day and was quickly kicked out and not allowed back in even when I reapplied and was accepted for the training. They told me that they’re unable to take me because I don’t qualify for the training and at that time I was already 22 reapplying, hoping for the best to become a made in NY participant, and possibly receive my license but many times trying to apply never worked. They never even thought of me completely no person to person interaction. There’s only automated systems. I’m not a mean person i’m simply stating the facts BWI has failed me I am now 26 years old homeless still trying to figure things out and still applying to jobs without a phone on a public library computer

I am extremely grateful for the start BWI has given me to enter the Housing Industry I have been longing to enter. They gave me the opportunity to gain invaluable experience, exposure and skills I feel I would not have gotten otherwise. I am so much confident and skilled now compared to when I first entered BWI’s training program. Knowing that I have their continued support, come what may, I can continue to be a great contributor not only to my immediate community but to any community I am privileged to serve.

I recently attended the Housing Career Pathways to Training at BWI on affordable housing and I was extremely impressed with the quality of the training. The instructors and presenters were knowledgeable and passionate about the subject matter, and they provided overviews on Fair Housing, Marketing and Compliance, HUD, and HPD. The training was intensive and gave me the confidence and self-efficacy to believe in myself and my abilities to move up the ladder in my new career and not settle. I highly recommend BWI for anyone looking to gain knowledge and skills in any of the amazing trainings they offer. Special thank you to Korey, Amira Ford, and Yeslie.

I attended Brooklyn Workforce innovations for Housing Career Pathways back in fall 2022. I didn’t know what to expect in the beginning, I just knew I was ready for a change in my life and saw this opportunity for a career in Affordable Housing I had to take it. Before attending this program. I was working two jobs, attending online school and supporting my two children. Attending this program changed my life. During the program we’ve learned about policies when it comes to affordable housing, fundamental in Microsoft-word and excel. Most importantly what I love is they help us to be prepared for any interviews that may come our way.
Those who attended this program can agree that this was worth every minute of our time. I would like to thank the leaders who made this program possible Korey Grumm, Amira Ford, and Yeslie Maldanado. Thank you for believing in every single one of us. You all are incredible supportive team. I’m grateful for sharing this experience with you all. This program is a great opportunity for you to start achieving your goal in having a career of your dreams. I have mines. I am now a Housing Lottery Specialist for Affordable Housing helping individuals get their homes. If you are ready to gain skills, and knowledge to start your career, Brooklyn Workforce Innovation is a great place to be.

I joined the 6-week program KindWork at the beginning of January and throughout that time I have learned so many valuable customer experience skills in such a short time. I enhanced my professional online profile and I have a created bonds with some of the best people ever. I am so thankful for programs like KindWork. They really set young adults up for success. I would recommend this to anyone between the ages of 20-26, even if you want to advance in the customer service field. It's a great way to start your professional career.

BWI Housing Career Pathways program is great program if you are trying to get into the housing field. Though it was an intensive five weeks of training I learned alot thanks to the great team (Korey, Yeslie and Amira). I had an amazing time at BWI and strangers became my family.
