Let me just state for the record that Andrew Balbus is fan-freaking-tastic! I am certain that he has helped many, many people.

The circumstances leading up to someone needing to seek bankruptcy counsel are horrible. The amount of guilt and shame surrounding it can feel so overwhelming. I think it stops many people from seeking assistance. Andrew Balbus is an absolute gem in this respect. He takes an uncomfortable situation and helps you figure out how to get through it. He never makes you feel ignorant or irresponsible. He has exactly the right combination of compassion and professionalism; combined with a sarcastic and witty sense of humor that really helps you to feel at ease through the whole ordeal.

We initially were advised by another law firm to file 7 Bankruptcy, but 5 months after starting the process were told that our assets were too high that we would have to file for chapter 11 and would have use another lawyer. When we contacted Balbus we were advised that Connecticut had increased the homestead exemption last year and that we would qualify for chapter 7 based the information provided.
