My husband and I jumped the tax bracket when I got my first job out of grad school and owed thousands on our 2020 taxes. It was horrible trying to navigate that and we haven’t been the most confident since that happened. We always found some problem every year we filed. We have worked with a few accountants in the past but have always owed something. It was frustrating getting advice from accountants who clearly didn’t know how to help us despite paying for their services.

Jovanny at Avance is incredible and the most personable tax accountant we’ve worked with. He is always available to answer questions and does so with ease. He filed our taxes last year and helped us adjust our W-4s. This year, we finally got a sizable refund and were given further advice on how to make our money work for us. We are finally feeling confident about managing our money.

Jovanny is a knowledgeable tax preparer who we’ve used since we moved here four years ago. He never makes you feel rushed during your appointments and he does a good job explaining every step of the process with you. It also helps that he’s fully bilingual (English/Spanish). Last year we had an issue where we ended up owing money where I’m used to getting a refund due to a part time job I have where income tax wasn’t being withheld but with his advice we made some adjustments this year and ended up with the sizable tax refund I’m used to receiving. I’d recommend sending him your tax documents ahead of your appointment to make the process quicker and smoother. Overall I’d recommend Avance and Jovanny specifically to handle your tax return.
