If your insurance company is sending this company to your house, I urge you to deny their service as you have the right to do so, which I wish we had.

The Airspec agent that came out inaccurately stated in their report that our damage was from a chronic leak, when it was in fact due to a sudden event (garbage disposal failure.) They came out a week after a water incident and stated that because they found a certain type of mold, we were at fault due to “lack of maintenance.” The report then contradicted itself by stating we had a type of mold that would start growing between 24 hours to 30 days after an incident. The mold may have been there for 1 to 30 days, they came out a week later, and our cabinetry was still saturated from inches of water being in it. They weren’t there to see what happened, but consider themselves an expert on your home. Please choose your own air quality people if your insurance company tries to send Airspec your way.

*edited to add* It is extremely unprofessional to publicly report on something that is in a confidential report between the company and the client. That is a red flag in itself. And that is not even what you stated on the report, so I would suggest taking down private information about my home.

Arrived on time, and that’s saying a lot for this area, especially giving the work load and conditions following Hurricane Ian. Was extremely impressed with the professionalism and thoroughness of the activities.

One our inspecting personnel left, we understood our current condition and a potential path to reach a solution.

If you’re in need of a good service, with excellent communication, this team fits the bill.

Absolutely the most professional and determined young man . We are thankful he found our problems. Several companies in prior and we wished would have called Owen Steepy @ AirSpec first !
If every company was ran this well …….what a blessing it would be ‼️
He worked circles around the company that came in first. Very efficient and on time.

If your insurance company is getting them involved, you may want to get your own expert in addition. They may have some incentives that can make your life difficult. In our case, it prolonged settling our claim for a month. Luckily, we had an inspection of the area in question shortly before our incident and upper management at our insurance company took the time to understand the situation. The person who issues the air spec reports isn’t the field agent. Just be careful because the people at insurance companies don’t live at your house, have many claims to deal with, and may hang on words that could enable them to try and get out of payment. Air spec took a long time to issue our report, and they got the major cause of our mold quite wrong.

AirSpec did a great job and helped us out on short notice. Our previously scheduled inspector had to reschedule due to hurricane Ian and would have notably delayed repairs to our kitchen. Air Spec was able to come take the samples when we needed and the results came back in just a day. Thanks to them we were able to continue repairs on schedule. Thank you, AirSpec!

Mark, according to your other review, you had a claim denied by your insurance provider. Claim approvals and denials are out of our control. We provide insurance companies with the most accurate information possible on which they can make decisions. If you have any grievances with our employees or services provided, we would greatly appreciate the feedback as to what we can improve.

Response
The technician performed and inferior inspection and never not once turned the water on to look for a leak when clearly the lines were ruptured under the slab. Wrote in their report the problem was long term and due to lack of maintenance when the technician miss diagnosed the problem and was not thorough. To try and seem that air spec is impartial and not beholden to the insurance company is malfeasance. The improprieties of air spec and their inability to perform a thorough inspection had caused and will cause for many customers undue duress and wasted time and finances.

Dishonest & Unprofessional. This co is extemely dishonest, you cannot trust their reports! Sharon Dugan, after asking the owner, Mike Steepy, admitted they would "fudge" or "change" the results, to my favor, as long as I pay them(I called pretending to be a condo association). They have no interest in reporting the unbiased truth, nor in doing thorough work, or proper testing! They are completely devoid of scrupules.
They will help unscrupulous HOA's to avoid being accountable for their negligence, & help them further victimize the condo owner.
AirSec's Phillip Casal came to do a mold-assessment of my home(paid by my dishonest HOA) and he intentionally ommited important mold-tests, & LIED, when he said the mold in my home was due to my AC(which he admitted was working fine). I then hired my own Mold Assessor, who(unlike AirSpec), did all the pertinent mold-tests(ERMI, surface, air, endotoxins, mycotoxins), the results not only ruled out my AC as being the cause, but the test results proved the mold in my home was due to the roof leaks! Proving AirSpec & Phillip Casal LIED in their mold-assessment-report! Their dishonety cost me 100's of thousands of dollars, in lost wages, & legal fees (5+yrs of litigation). There is a special place in Hell for all of them...& for AirSpec as a whole. YOU CANNOT TRUST AIRSPEC!
