I hired the Law Offices of John C. Bigler for my case. They did ultimately win — but the experience was frustrating and unnecessarily expensive.

Throughout the process, I repeatedly asked if we could try to negotiate early to avoid going to court. Every time, I was dismissed or brushed off. Instead, we ended up negotiating right before seeing the judge — often minutes before court proceedings — after already incurring all the costs of preparing for court. This happened more than once, and every time I was left wondering why we couldn’t have handled it earlier when I had specifically asked for it.

Communication overall made me feel more anxious and unsupported. Basic questions were treated like an inconvenience, and while I technically had a lawyer, I didn’t feel like I had an advocate.

Because they won, I could recommend them — but based on how they handled the process, how often they dismissed reasonable requests, and how much extra cost and stress that caused, I just can’t. Winning a case shouldn't come at the expense of feeling unheard and drained.

My case was very unique from the beginning. John Bigler and his staff figured out a plan and successfully helped me get my kids returned to me after they were kidnapped and taken to the other side of the country by the other parent. They even set up meetings with the other law firm from another state to ensure the best outcome for my case there. What other lawyer can you think of would do that?!

STORY #1: John Bigler Sends Messages - Leading up to my court hearing dates John would communicate with me through text to give me a personal message and also a heads up on what to expect from court that day. It wasn't some copy and paste message. It was actually written precisely about my hearing that day.

STORY #2: The staff cared and took pride in their work - My very first experience I remember with his staff was when I sent an urgent email over at 6am in the morning. Due to the emergency of the situation, they were on it within minutes (literally) and hours before their office even opened. They knew exactly how to prioritize their work at the office to make sure this was taken care of with the courthouse that morning. *Don't expect this kind of attentiveness all the time. Elissa might of just heard her phone buzzing while she was sleeping. Still really awesome though!*

STORY #3: John always gave me honest objective answers - Sometimes I didn't like getting honest objective answers from John. He was always professional when doing so but it was tough at first because hearing things that weren't exactly what I might of wanted or expected (at the time) made me anxious. After looking back though, John was on-target 100% of the times he advised me on those stressful matters. Trust him and his staff; they really do know what they are doing.

Hands Down The best family Law Attorney in the Antelope Valley
I had originally hired another well-known family law attorney. On my first two appointments, I sat in the waiting room for over an hour, only to be told he would not make the meetings, I walked out.
John Bigler picked up my case and communicated quickly, we met and had a very candid conversation on how to best strategize and proceed forward. When I left his office, I felt relieved. I had a court date the next day, and he was all over it. He was upfront and honest and explained the expectations in the court room and how the proceedings might go, and provided me with a no non-sense approach, no hype or false expectations. He helped me to navigate some tough emotional decisions, and was available to answer my questions, which put me at ease. When we had court appearances, he helped calm my nerves. After my divorce was settled, the outcome was much more favorable than I had anticipated. My divorce matter was fairly complex, there was a multitude of dynamics surrounding my case such as child custody evaluations, (which he guided me through the entire way), support issues, retirement assets, and other property division, all very overwhelming. John Bigler is on his game - he is knowledgeable, reliable, and really understands his trade. He turned a very stressful situation into a more manageable situation. His office staff is warm, friendly, and very accommodating. John will always be my legal counsel, and I highly recommend him to anyone in need of family law.

*Not BOGUS* I did not ask for assistance in "litigation against our former client" NOT once did I ask for information within the case nor was I going to. It is a question I have and was directed this way by the court house themselves.

One star sucks but I was also trying to be polite, since you want to claim “bogus” if you are someone who is wanting peace at the time don’t depend on this guy and how he writes up agreements and also doesn’t submit ALL the paperwork required to the court for records.

Called today, couldn’t get my question out before the lady started telling me they couldn’t assist. I won’t go into detail but the point is the lady should have fully listened and allowed me to get my questions out regardless could have been professional, her attitude sucked, very rude and honestly could compare her mouth to a two year old with a tantrum.

It has been over 2 years since my 4 plus year divorce ended.
Mr. Bigler did such a fantastic job on my case and I want everyone to know that he was amazing! I truly believe that if I had not hired him I would not be financially independent at this stage in life after being married for over 35 years!
