We lived in this apartment for two years, and it was a really good experience for us. Dorothy was always reliable and responsive whenever we needed anything. She was genuinely kind and made sure we felt comfortable and taken care of during our time here. We really appreciated her help

The actual amenities, apartments, and location are nice. The parking and garages are inadequate and overly complicated. There had been numerous occasions where the garage gates do not work, therefore trapping my car in, leaving me having to take public transit or an Uber in order to get to work.

There are only 3 elevators in the entire complex, and one of them is almost always out of service. The 2 working elevators are next to each on one side of the complex, and the non-working elevator is in the middle. So if you live on the opposite side, you are practically walking 2 city blocks to get to your home which can be problematic if you are carrying something heavy.

The management is another issue. There was some turnover in the staff, however this has not helped. I moved out several months ago, and they still have yet to give me my deposit back. Despite multiple emails and calls, they never respond or get back to me. I STRONGLY do not recommend living here.

I’ve previously reviewed Prado Apartments based on my experience with their constant parking garage issues, mailroom thefts (costing me over $5,000 with no accountability), and paper-thin walls that make peace and quiet impossible. Unfortunately, their handling of my move-out process has been just as disappointing, if not worse.

Despite California law requiring a complete and accurate move-out statement within 21 days, it has been 60 days, and I still haven’t received a proper and final statement. The only thing I finally got was incomplete, inaccurate ESTIMATED statement and didn’t align with the apartment’s condition during the pre-move-out inspection/estimates given to me by themselves! Additionally they’ve withheld my extra rent payment(~$1500 plus secure deposit) and failed to provide clear explanations or proper documentation for deductions, despite numerous emails and calls.

Prado Apartments continues to demonstrate a lack of professionalism, transparency, and respect for tenants. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, do yourself a favor and avoid this place. It’s a nightmare from start to finish.

Terrible Living Conditions – Avoid at All Costs!

I regret ever moving into this apartment complex. From day one, it’s been nothing but issues. The hallways constantly smell terrible, no matter the time of day, making it unpleasant to even walk to your unit.

The package situation is even worse. Packages are carelessly thrown around the mailroom, making it feel like a free-for-all whenever you pick up your stuff. I’ve had damaged items more than once.

Elevators are always breaking down, leaving only one working elevator for the entire community. This causes massive delays, and it’s especially frustrating when you’re in a hurry or carrying groceries. And don’t get me started on the common areas—always hot, stuffy, and they reek of body odor. It’s unbearable!

The office staff is clueless and never seems to care about any of the problems. When you ask for help, you get brushed off or are forced to wait an unreasonable amount of time for any sort of action.

The complex is also filthy. Dog pee and hair are everywhere, despite their claims of having cleaning staff. I’ve barely seen them, and the condition of the building reflects that.

Parking is an absolute nightmare, and to make matters worse, there are constantly food delivery people hovering outside, just waiting to rush in when you open the door. The whole app-entry system is a mess, and the so-called “high-tech” parking spots never work properly. It’s frustrating to pay for this “feature” when it’s more of a hassle than a convenience.

What’s even worse is that management claims they’ve “fixed” everything under new leadership, but that’s far from the truth. In fact, it feels like things are getting worse! The same problems persist, and any improvements they’ve promised are either nonexistent or half-hearted.

Considering how outrageous the rent is compared to the conditions, I would give this place zero stars if I could. Living here has been a huge disappointment. I definitely don’t recommend it to anyone. You’ll be paying way too much for poor management, dirty living conditions, and constant inconvenience.

As of 10 AM today, we have no water in the apartment due to a leakage, and there was absolutely no notice given. This means we can’t wash our hands, use the toilets, brush our teeth, wash dishes, or cook. It’s extremely frustrating and inconvenient.

Additionally, there are three elevators in the complex, but two are almost always out of service. It’s a constant struggle, especially during peak hours when everyone is forced to rely on the only functioning one.

Even though this is supposed to be a smoke-free apartment, the hallways are frequently filled with the smell of cigarettes and marijuana. The lack of enforcement of this policy makes the living environment unpleasant.

Overall, between the maintenance issues and poor management communication, living here has been a major disappointment. Would not recommend.

I've been living here for almost 4 years now, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. The amenities are excellent, and the neighbors are quiet and friendly. There's a new dog park near the complex, which is great for the many dog owners here. Plus, the parking is safe and convenient.

The highlight of living here is the outstanding service team, especially Juan and his crew. They are constantly on the move, making repairs and ensuring everything runs smoothly. They even work after hours and on weekends to address any issues. During the summer, my AC had frequent problems, and they were always quick to fix it and follow up to ensure it was working properly. Their dedication and promptness are truly commendable.

I lived at Prado for 2 and a half years, and one thing I can say is that the maintenance team deserves a lot of recognition. Juan and Antonia are the most resourceful and efficient maintenance team I’ve ever seen. During my time there, they were far more responsive, reliable, friendly and personable than the actual management team. I would be rating Prado a lot lower if it was not for the maintenance team making my life easier and resolving issues fast (latch issues, garage gate, water pressure, thermostat, squeaky doors, among others).
One of the biggest issues I had was with the previous management team when I got locked out of my apartment after taking my dog out for a walk at night and was unable to get back into apartment because of the Latch door lock malfunctioning. I tried calling the emergency phone number (which I could not find because it was not available in their office, the resident app, or any of the emails they sent and had to bother a neighbor for it, he had gotten locked out once too)
After calling the emergency number and talking to 2 different people I was told they could help me and to call a locksmith because Prado was not registered for that particular emergency service anymore. It was around 10:30pm when I decided to call a locksmith. I saved the invoice and talked to the office the next day, to my surprise they were not happy, tried to blame me for getting locked out, and not being able to find their correct emergency number (which was then posted all over their office a few days later). Unfortunately it got more frustrating when I was told to submit the locksmith invoice, they end up losing it (thankfully I took a picture of it) and they began to avoid my requests for an update on the reimbursement. This was my experience with the old management team.
The new management team seems better than the previous one, they mentioned I would get half of the cost reimbursed for the locksmith incident (which is still not right, I think the owners are not getting the full story or are greedy and believe their management team was doing their job) but I hope they keep their word. New management communicates with residents more effectively and are more responsive but I do think they are understaffed.
I think management could use a more friendly and attentive staff, some members of management seem to be inconvenienced when approached.
